Lafayette/BART Town Center Pathway & Bike Station
Project Summary
In 2016, the City of Lafayette and the Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) partnered on a joint grant funding application to develop a better walking and cycling connection between Downtown Lafayette and the centrally-located BART train station. I authored the grant application in consultation with BART colleagues and we successfully secured over $2 million in grant funding to finance the project design and construction. Upon receiving the grant award, I became planning and project manager to facilitate project implementation, working with a variety of stakeholders including BART, the adjacent housing developer, and utility companies with ownership and jurisdiction overlays across the project site.
